The i3+ doesn’t have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we tested. It could be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like hardwood and rug.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might encounter. It’s also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they don’t become clogged with dirt. When the i3+’s internal bin is full or the battery is empty, it returns to its docking station and automatically emptying its trash into the station’s external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it began.
