A number of commenters suggested that the CPSC add a second provision to the proposed rule for bedside travel crib sleepers with multiple uses that would permit them to meet minimum side height requirements for bassinets using a removable attachment. This attachment can be permanently attached or removed when the product is not being used as a bassinet for babies.
The CPSC is reviewing the comments and other suggestions received in response to the NPR regarding bedside sleeping. The Commission will take into consideration these comments when deciding on the final rule which is expected to be issued in the month of November 2021.
