This is your time to own a robotic vacuum. CNET’s top-rated models will be available for Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts of up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping using apps-based no-go zones. its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba J7+, iRobot’s most advanced robot to date is the Roomba j7+. The most significant innovation is its camera-based obstacle detection system. It uses AI to recognize objects like charging cords and shoes. It’s the first robot to send you a picture of an object that it encounters, so you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we’ve ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn’t vacuum in areas you don’t would like. It’s compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.
Its design is also a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy rather than a loud, loud one. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal It also self-empties which can cut down on cleaning time.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one location instead of scattering it around the floor. It was able to collect small gravel, sand and even a tiny bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot achieve this feat. It did this without getting caught in our pet’s hair.
The j7+, although not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot and cannot clean the stairs, is still an option for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It’s not expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates, and sometimes it’s hard to determine whether the update actually working until you see it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than simply clean your floors, a hybrid is the best affordable robot vacuum choice. These robots come with a tank of water so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. These bots also come with various additional features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They’re costly at retail, but they often are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock makes some of our most loved robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn’t an exception. It’s their cheapest auto-empty model, and while it lacks certain features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it’s a great option if you’re willing to sacrifice a little to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have lots of furniture. It’s also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a place where many robot vacuums that are less expensive do not excel in. The Q5+’s navigation system is also top-quality, with a few misses along walls and in corners.
Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled using a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas or adjust your home map, or re-label the rooms.
If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it ships with a new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It comes with a huge LCD screen that is very useful in setting up schedules and altering settings. This feature isn’t necessary for everyone, however it can help you effectively keep the robot’s maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded vacuum and mop. It’s capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design is one of the top in the market however it’s quite expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions, and chores that other robots would leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. The majority of other robots require you to perform this.
Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive and efficient, too. It’s the few robot vacuum cleaner review vacuums I’ve tested that do an excellent job of collecting debris from unfinished floors, and it’s not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren’t as reliable as some other robovacs, meaning it can get stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It’s not able navigate stairs as well as some competitors, either and doesn’t come with an dock that allows you to create a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who need an automated vacuum that can do everything.
If you’re looking to cut costs or aren’t averse to the limitations of the best value robot vacuum, there are many alternatives available. Many of the eufy models cost substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for example is a bit more expensive, but offers more features, including stairs and a fully-function Dock, with the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on bare floors carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, a Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the right balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpet floors, as well as mopping functions for a low cost. It’s easy to set up, just attach one of the side brushes, turn it on and plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock should be placed close to an outlet that has plenty of room to move.
The G30 is a small device that measures 2.85 inches in height, meaning it will be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is more modest than other models, sporting a sleek black finish and three physical buttons: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The most important feature that distinguishes the G30 apart from its competitors is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of immovable objects in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and the areas it’s not able to access. It then returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning where it left off.
The eufy G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, has a similar battery life, and is more effective on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn’t have to be empty as often and comes with the boundaries to keep it away from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and a lot easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn’t require as frequent emptying and it struggles less with heavy materials such as cereal.
